Does the utility for savig the Knoppix config to a floppy/hdd somehow save the files in directory /etc? I need to save the config of Samba, so that I won't need to configure it manually again. Or how can I eventually start some script that configures the Samba during the startup? Is it possible to define what scripts are to be run during the startup?

Thank you

This might work.
Copy your /etc/samba/smb.conf file to your home directory and then do the floppy save or persistant home, and it should save the smb.conf file with it.

Then when you restart knoppix, copy the smb.conf file back to /etc/samba/smb.conf and start samba.
