Acer Aspire 1804WSMI

I have an Acer Aspire 1804WSMI and I can't make Knoppix recognize my wireless adaptater...I also tried to connect my laptop directly to the Router (which supports wireless, USB and ethernet connections) via USB but I can't find out how to configure the modem....I tried to set a usb modem, I tried all the four ports but it didn't work...thanks in advance for your help!
