m installing linux on my hard drive so i can dual boot. Nevertheless im wondering which partion i need to use for teh linux; EXT3, EXT2, FAT 32, FAT 16, JFB, NTFS, XFS? Whats teh diss in NTFS and FAT 32, because so when i boot in linux (knoppix 4.0.2) teh windows partition will need to be FAT 32 so linux can write on that part of the partition. Thanks
For the Linux partition you should use ext3. There are other ones you could use ( e.g. xfs) but you cannot install linux on ntfs or fat32/fat16.
You might also want to make a fat32 partition for storing your files. This can be read in linux and windows.
