Hello and welcome to Knoppix.net.

We hope that you enjoy your use of Knoppix and hope you become an active member of the community. There's no membership fee. We just ask that you help us and others by becoming familiar with Knoppix, posting questions, and letting the rest of us know how things go. Also, I noticed that you joined recently and so was wondering if you wouldn't mind answering a few questions.

1. - How did you hear about Knoppix?
2. - How did you discover Knoppix.net?
3. - What version of Knoppix are you using?
4. - What type of system are you running Knoppix on?
5. - What operating system is currently installed on that system?
6. - How long have you been using computers, or how familiar are you with computers?
7. - Have you used linux before? If so, how long?
8. - What do you hope to do with Knoppix or Linux?
9. - Are you familiar with a wiki? If so, have you used a wiki before, e.g wrote some content?

Dunno. What kind of connection does the PSP or PDA have: USB, FireWire, serial, IR, bluetooth, other? If it's USB or FireWire, then Knoppix may recognize them as simple storage devices.

PSP uses usb
OK. Then try the following: boot into Knoppix, open a root shell, and type the following:

dmesg -c >& /dev/null
Next, plug in your PSP into the USB port of your machine and type the following in the root shell:

( set -x
cat /etc/knoppix-version
dmesg
cat /proc/partitions
cat /etc/fstab
) >& post.txt
Please post the output of post.txt.

9. I have seen it never used it.
For what a wiki is I'll direct you to wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wiki). Much of the documentation for Knoppix (http://www.knoppix.net/wiki/) is in a wiki. To get the most out of it, I recommend you create a wiki account (http://www.knoppix.net/wikinew/index.php?title=Special:Userlogin) and then explore. The wiki is a great place for putting notes on what you are working on and sharing it with others.

I found USB connect document of PSP for Windows XP at:
http://psp.connect.com/tutorial/tutorial.pdf

I think USB connect for knoppix should similar.
except that it is safer for detection by plug in PSP before PC power up.
I found that my laptop only detect USB hard drive when USB plug in before PC power up.
My desktop has no this problem.

Must right click USB icon and uncheck read only device, so that you can write to PSP (usb hard drive)
