My external disk is not detected at boot up. It's a firewire LaCie disk.

Is there any way I can force Knoppix to identify when booting?
Is there a way to find the disk, and connect to it, when Knoppix is up and running?

Thanks,

/Micke

Knoppix should automatically recognize the FireWire drive. However, since it isn't, boot Knoppix as you normally would without the drive plugged in. Then type this into a root terminal (K > Knoppix > Root shell):

dmesg -c >& /dev/null
Now plug in the FireWire drive and type these commands:

( set -x
dmesg
lspci
cat /proc/partitions
cat /etc/fstab
ls -la /mnt/
) >& post.txt

Pleast post the contents of post.txt.
