Hi all!
After searching for a solution in several forums i fĂ*nally resigned and now had to open a new thread.
my problem is following:
when i'm trying to boot from the Knoppix V3.9 cd i'm getting errors like this:

cloop:Read error at pos 384328967 in file /cdrom/knoppix , 26654 bytes lost
cloop:error-3 uncompressing block 1622565536/0/26654/0 384328967-384355621

cloop:error-3 uncompressing block 1622565536/0/26654/0 384328967-384355621

/bin/mount:error while loading shared libraries /lib/tls/lic.so.6:cannot read file data: Input/output error
ERROR:CANNOT UNITE READ-ONLY MEDIA AND INITIAL RAMDISK!

(The long numbers might be others, but i don't think this matters!?)
after that i can type in anything, but it doesn't react.
i hope you know how to deal with failures like this!

17 Q: My PC will boot off of the burned disc. It is strange since it loads but then stalls or it loads but is giving me I/O errors. What's going on? That's hardly certain. In fact if you used BitTorrent it is very unlikely that you have a bad download. But more importantly, read the entire FAQ, not just that one question. You can easily determine if the download is good or not in about a minute with the md5 sum check. If you have the ISO you can still do one rather than downloading again. You should certainly not burn without doing it. And if this was news to you then there is likely a lot of other advice in the downloading faq that will be important to you also.
