Just in case this is useful for anyone:

Tried to install klik on a second machine - no go. Ran the install command "wget ..." in a terminal rather than in the browser. Noticed a complaint about not finding zenity. Installed zenity (via apt-get [synaptic]) from the repository. Reran the install command and .. presto: dialogs appeared and everything ran just fine. OS is ANGULA demudi 1.2.1. Note that this distro does not include KDE.

klik should detect which desktop you are using.
Under KDE, it should display dialogs using kdialog
Under GNOME, it should display dialogs using zenity
Under pure shell, it should display dialogs using dialog
In all other cases, it should display dialogs using Xdialog

If it doesn't, then the auto-detecion does not work reliably for your distribution.

Autodetection is probably fine; demudi 1.2.1 uses a GNOME-based desktop. The problem was that zenity was not included, so klik could not show dialogs. Hopefully, this is not a common problem. I made the post just in case someone else ran into it. Everything is OK now except for the occasional .cmg files that won't run. No big deal at all. Great job, probono. Thanks for the reply. --hotrodg
