Well. I download Knoppix CD, insert it into my CD-ROM Drive, and comes the BIG problem. When the console finished itself system testing and start the X or within it in this moment my monitor was switsh off. I try to configure the system by clicking F2, but the result was the same. If you know something about this problem, please tell me. My monitor is DELL

Your monitor actually switched off??? That's weird - or was it actually just a blank screen?

The F2 buton brings up a screen that lists SOME but not all of the cheatcodes you can use to get Knoppix to boot on your machine. The rest of the codes are here:http://www.knoppix.net/docs/index.php/CheatCodes

If you can't get it to work post some more hardware info- especially your video card and RAM.

Uhm, could you be more specific? As far as I know Dell is in the top 3 PC builders in the USA... Version number?

Anyways, it's probably that your graphics card sends out no (or an incorrect) video signal, every halfway modern monitor will put itself in standby then (if its EnergyStar compliant).

Take a look at the CheatCodes (http://www.knoppix.net/docs/index.php/CheatCodes). Boot with something as "knoppix screen=1024x768 xmodule=..."

If it still doesn't work, you could try booting with "knoppix 2" and running sudo lspci -v | more. Sift out the entry for your videocard. Write it down and submit under Windows (or whatever :-P), or you can try to submit via links on a different console, alt+F1, alt+F2, etc.

We will try to find out what's wrong :-)

Also try knoppix noddc to stop auto detection of monitor.

2 possible causes :

-vga card
-screen

if vga card issue :
-check plug'n pray in bios
-if desktop pc with agp card => check 'enable agp at boot first'
-try fb buffer mode (or other) with cheat codes => xmodule=ati|radeon|fbdev|vesa|savage|s3|nv

if screen issue :
-try basic resolution first => cheat option screen=800x600 or 640x480
-try other refersh rates => cheat option xvrefresh (some screens are going to sleep modus if not set to right refresh rate)

With these it MUST work ...

greetzzz...
