I am using an 8480-wd wireless card with oem driver in an ndis wrapper. I have tried three cards and all fail the DHCP request. everything is ok in my iwconfig for etho except the Link Quality ( 0/94 ).

I believe this dmesg error is the source of my problems.

I have irq errors on a pci device irq 11 and 10, as well but got tired of typing the above.
I can't copy and paste from a root window yet.
Compaq 80xl500 notebook
dual boot with win 2k
knoppix 4.0 kernel 2.6.12

I ran across another post with the same error and he upgraded his kernel from knoppix 3.2
but I have a fairly new kernel and I believe it supports acpi but I'm not sure
oh and the wired network works fine using the same router

Can someone help me answer two questions.

How does this problem relate to the kernel.

Is it possible to recompile the kernel to work arround this?
