View Full Version : v 3.6 Knoppix 2.4 Boot Problem (Network)

i am a newbie on Linux in general and Knoppix so please be patient. :)

I have one question concerning the boot-up of Knoppix v2.4!
The boot-up stops directly after the detection of network device eth0.

"Network device eth0 detected, DHCP broadcasting for IP."
I have an internal WLAN-card...

I tried to boot with another computer and it functions withput any problems!

Can you help me solving the problem?

Thank you!

At the boot prompt try:
knoppix nodhcp

If you get past it and it boots try from a root prompt:

ifconfig and if eth0 is up try
pump -i eth0

if eth0 is not up try
ifconfig eth0 up and then try
pump -i eth0

If that doesn't work then you ethernet card is probably not supported. You might want to try a newer versoin of KNOPPIX.

Good luck!
