I am running Knoppix live on my laptop using the live cd. When I save my configuration information to a floppy I run out of space. I would like to save it to my ntfs hard drive running windows xp pro. There is an option to create a persistent knoppix disk image. Will this option create files or actually repartition my hard drive? I don't want to disrupt my drive at this time. Will this just create the two files configs.tbz and knoppix.sh on the root directory of C:?

Linux does not have a reliable write to an NTFS file system. You either repartition and create a small fat or ext2 partition or you risk crashing your hard drive.

There are long discussions of the wirte to NTFS. It may be possible to replace files read from NTFS with changed content. Beyond that beware.
