hello i`new to linux, but i like OS`s. i have tried several and like them. i installed knoppix 4 on my computer ( my BILLS P.O.S. ) went down again. when i try to boot knoppix, it will not boot.

kernel panic-not syncing:vbs:unable to mount root fs on unknown-block (3,1)

before this comes up i get

debian gnu/linux kernel 2.6.12 default
debian gnu/linux kernel 2.6.12

i think the problem is this . how can i remove one of them?
