I am using latest knoppix on dvd.

Whether i do echo -n "mem" /sys/power/state
or

echo "3" > /proc/acpi/sleep

it suspends fine(just like in XP), but when I hit one of the acpi/MM buttons to resume, it seems to either power off, or does so and reboots quickly. If it seems to power off, hitting one of the buttons again results in an immediate reboot.

help? resumes fine in XP

Sleep/Hibernate functions are not all that well implemented in Linux yet. Is your ACPI bios recognized properly?

Other acpi stuff seems to work.

Here is the bug entry.

Seeing as kernel.org has a bugtracker for this problem and that it hasn't been resolved, this forum will probably not be able to offer you anything in the way of a solution since it appears to be a problem with Linux itself, not Knoppix.
