LOOP_SET_FD error on boot

I'm booting the 4.02-dvd version. At the begining of the boot sequence there is a message that says Found Primary knoppix image at /cdrom/KNOPPIX/KNOPPIX.ioctl: LOOP_SET_FD: Bad file descriptor.

Boot continues and no further errors happen but when GUI comes up it hangs on the "Initializing System Services". I can boot to Level 2 and everything "seems" OK. I tried booting the testcd option and it just hangs in the same place. Hardware is listed below.

IBM T40 laptop
80 GB HD
2GB Ram
1.5 GHz Centrino
