Knoppix DVD(4.0.2) won't boot new (less than 30 days old) Toshiba Satellite M60?

I have the above DVD - (from Linux-Central) - when, (in the boot-messages)
it gets to "PCMCIA found, starting cardmgr" - it 'hangs' -

did this (also) on previous CD-ROM (Knoppix 3.7)

works fine (both 4.0.2 DVD and 3.7 CD) on older Toshiba Satellite
1415 (3 plus years old)

let me (bill@vikingasia.org) know if you know about this issue, and/or
can 'point me to' some other resource, or can help?

THANKX!!!! - bill

if you do not need the pcmcia card manager functionality then you can disable it at boot time via a cheatcode: knoppix nopcmcia

I have an old Toshiba Satellite 2545xcdt and the same thing happens when trying to boot a knoppix cd. Have attempted to use v.3.9 and v.4.

As the OP stated, the only way to get Knoppix to boot is to use nopcmcia cheat code. This is not acceptable as I need my wireless pcmcia card to be active for internet access.

Has anyone found a resolution or a work around for this issue?
