sorry this maybe a stupid question but what files do i download??
i downloaded "KNOPPIX_V3.8.2-2005-05-05-EN.is" is that it??
do i just burn that to a disc?

Is there a reason why you would want to download an old version, one with known problems with the unionfs?

im sorry any chance u can provide me with a more direct link that would help me, ive searched the FAQ loads of times but i cant find any help,
no i dont really mind what version as long as it works

No, I can't, or more to the point, I will not. I intentionally told people in this link how to find the wiki and which FAQ to read rather than give a link right to it because I want people to know how to find the wiki without asking for a link to the information every time they have a question. You say that you read the FAQ. You did't say downoading FAQ and I really wonder if you read it at all, since it covers exactly what you asked, as well as giving answers to the next five questions that you are about to ask. All of the downloading faq is important and worth reading, just giving you a link to the file to download would only be setting the stage for all of the common errors that new users make after they obtain the correct file.

3.8 has known bugs. 4.0.2 does also, but most people consider the 3.8 bugs more serious. If you don't care then I certainly don't.
