Hi all,

I've been racking my brains for some time now trying to get my BCM4306 based wireless network card working with ndiswrapper with absolutely no luck whatsoever. After loading the bcmwl5.inf file into ndiswrapper, ndiswrapper -l tells me that the driver is installed and the hardware is present. However, iwconfig doesn't list wlan0. It only shows lo and eth0 as having no wireless extensions. lsmod shows that ndiswrapper has been loaded.

Any help would be much appreciated, as this is the main hurdle I am facing to using Linux on a regular basis rather than Windows.

Thanks,
Piyush

You could try using Kanotix, it's another Live-CD based on Knoppix, with a lot more hardware recognition built in.

I had a similar problem, using Kanotix it worked out of the box...

Have a go, http://kanotix.com/
