hello, i'm having a problem installing knoppix with knoppix-installer

when i try to partition with the script, it says "Opened disk in read-only - you have no permission to write"

and then "FATAL ERROR: Cannot read disk drive"

then it exits.

i try "start installation" without partitioning, and it says "Formatting of failed. Some messages from mkfs,ext3" and then it lists the command line arguments for mkfs.

does anybody know how i can enable write access?? thanks!!!

What command did you use to run the knoppix installer? Did you read the documentation we have about the knoppix installer?
See http://www.knoppix.net/wiki/Hd_Install_HowTo
Please note that many of us volunteers recommend that you do NOT install Knoppix. See http://www.knoppix.net/wiki/HD_Install_Warning_not_to_do_it

yes i did read the how to on it, and there was nothing about this problem or how to fix it. and i know thats its generally not a good idea to install knoppix. i dont care though, i'm just doing this on a junky little p233 system i built out of spare parts i found.

i used the "knoppix-installer" command
