Changing USB install to read-write

Hi,

I've just installed KNOPPIX 4.02 onto a USB hard disk, following the instructions on the wiki http://www.knoppix.net/wiki/USB_Based_FAQ .

What I'm looking to do now, but can't find out how to, is to change the setup to be read-write so that I can install additional packages to the USB disk.

If anyone can point me in the right direction, it would be much appreciated
