NIS help

hi all
I am new to Linux
now, i'm trying to configure NIS client and server.. my server installed with Fedora 4.
I install Knoppix on the client machine...
Anybody know how to automatically configures NIS files on Knoppix??? Red Hat use "authconfig" command.... how about in Knoppix?
Any suggestion or alternative for that???
or I need to manually configure all the files??
