Okay well i run windows xp and i have Knoppix burnt as bootable on a cd. everytime i start the computer from cd drive this "DR-DOS" Thing comes up and it writes a bunch of crap then just stays like that, it doesnt boot up, anyone know whats happening? and how to fix it?

The file that you downloaded is known as an ISO image. All those ones and zeroes are meant to be burnt to the cd as is.

When you burn the image to a cd, make certain that your software does _no_ manipulation to the data. Search for an option in your software to burn an ISO image to cd. I know that in the Nero software this is not intuitive and confusing to find. Go to the "Burn" tab and choose something similar to "Burn ISO Image" then choose the ISO file.
