restoring partition

windows xp has messed up a ntfs partition. after a systemcrash checkdisk deleted all my files from the index so that neither windows or knoppix can find my files. running checkdisk again with windows, made the system hang.
so now i was wondering if there is some sort of checkdisk (or an other alternative) in knoppix that i can use to restore my partition.

Knoppix can not write to ntfs you are looking at finding a commercial product for windows for your problem.
