4.0.2 won't boot

Cant get 4.0.2 to boot. I press enter at boot prompt. I get Loading linux…….and it stops there. Any ideas?

thanx underscore. i tried knoppix noacpi acpi=off;knoppix noapic noacpi;failsafe plus a few other (seemingly relevant from a newbie perspective) cheat codes, but it still hangs at Loading linux…………
