hello friends
i have a huawei mt882 adsl modem
it is connected to my system via the "USB" port and not an ethernet port

its 256 kbps broadband.

i have the linux driver for that modem which work fine on red hat or suse

i want to make the modem work under knoppix in "LIVE" state means when it is running for cdrom.

how can i do this...how exactly can i configure the modem....does knoppix have inbuilt support for such modems or if i need to install the driver how can i do that in the live state as the installations steps are "access denied" when i tried that.

regards

I have a huawei WA1003A modem connected to my pc throught a USB port. How do I get the drivers for the same and start accessing the net through knoppix 4.0.2 and ubuntu?

Hi

I use also an USB-Modem with Knoppix-4.0.2 in LiveCD-Modus.

After each start-up I have to type in the shell:

sudo modprobe usbnet
netcardconfig
-> yes

... and You are surfing...

Enjoy the Knoppix-world.

Hi robibob,
First of all thanks for having replied.
I tried to do what you had written in the reply, but it still says no network cards found. I tried again but the same message.
Please help!

Regards,
Vishwas.
