I would like to install some other debian packages but when i want to install them i always get the error: dkpg stus area read only

no mater where i downloaded them and i set my harddisk to read/write.

Any solutions ?

Are you running from CD? Then it's impossible since the package database is on the CD, not on the ramdrive. I've read that with Morphix (based on Knoppix) you can install debian packages while running from CD.

Ik zou het natuurlijk ook in het Nederlands kunnen zeggen, maar dan hebben anderen er niet zoveel aan! :-P

You could try repackaging with fakeroot, I've seen a couple post about that on the debian-knoppix@linuxtag.org mailing list you might want to search the archive.
