cannot write to external hard drive

It just says could not write to the directory i'm trying to copy. The format of the external hard drive is FAT 32. Any ideas?

What version are you using? Also, do you know about permissions? Try changing the permission of the drive. Also, try searching the site for more information on permissions, right clicking on the icon will bring up a menu that will allow you to change the permissions of the drive via the gui

for example:

chmod ugo+rwx /mnt/nameofthedrive

yea i didnt have to change the permissions. it already said owner can read and write the files on that drive. So maybe its something wrong with my drives?
