Files not being listed on mounted NTFS drive

Hi all

I am having diffulty viewing files with Knoppix 4.0 on a properly mounted NTFS drive.

When I attempt to view files in the directory nothing appears.

I followed the directions according to the Wiki on how to rescue files. At the bottom of the file explorer window (konqueror) it says "No Items - No Files - No Folders"

I know i am viewing the right disk (SDA1) because when i click on properties then click on the device tab i see a free disc space indicater that says the exact size of my HD. However the file system does say "auto" not NTFS.

Anyone have any ideas?

Could you clarify something real quick? Now when you say you checked the wiki to read about rescuing files from the drive, does that mean that the NTFS partition you are trying to view files from had Windows on it but windows broke, and now windows won't boot up on that drive?

thats correct. when trying to boot windows a curser blinks 2 or 3 times then I see a black blank screen. This all happens directly after cmos. No win xp logo shows up.
