It's the simple things that I stumble over...
I need a quick reminder on how to install a program (rar_3.30-2_i386.deb) into a cd/dvd (knoppix 5.0) booted machine.
I have the file in a shared directory on the network and have logged onto that directory with smbmount.
I just need to quick install it onto the knoppix booted machine because I was going to use it to do an overnight backup with multiple volumn archives (since samba can't seem to send a file over 2 gigs).
apt-get update takes too long to prepare for apt-get install rar
Isn't there a quicky way from a previously downloaded package?
