Wow, I'm impressed that a system with this little RAM (20 or 24 megs, not clear which) even has a CD drive.

The BIOS on this system likely pre-dates the el-toro standard so it has no concept of booting from a CD.

I expect that you could coax the computer to boot by either making a SBM floppy or installing SBM on the hard disk MBR (respectable size hard disk by the way considering the other specs). I would try first with the floppy and only install to MBR if it worked and you wanted to avoid using a flopopy all of the time. See answer #1 (http://www.knoppix.net/wiki/User:Harry_Kuhman) for more info. Being able to boot CDs will be a handy thing to get working on this box.

I doubt that it will be enough memory for Knoppix though. Certainly not enough for Knoppix with a GUI. Try knoppix 2 as a cheat code to boot into a command shell only and see if even that works. You may also need other cheat codes for things like disabling DMA and the like. See the cheat codes section of the wiki for more details.

My 2cent is: boot an old 2.4 kernel vers. (knoppix 3.4 or 3.7) and use the follow cheatcode at boot knoppix 1 vga=normal to be prompted in the text mode without frame-buffer.

Can i modify any NTFS hard disk .....
I would never edit or delete anything on NTFS partition with Knoppix. But maybe that's just because I hate to have all of my data corrupted. Or to think it worked and only discover the corruption much later.

Your post doesn't seem to have anything to do with the topic of this thread.
