running apps with CD boot on the fly

Is there anyway to install apps not already on the CD when running off the CD? IE: can I download a package and install it like a regularly installed distro?

look at fabianx's ~/.dist install scripts.

AFAIK Morphix should be able to that. (haven't tried it)
