I'm running knoppix 4 with ssh and samba services. I'm trying to shut down other uses of the network. When I call nmap it show X11 listening to tcp on port 6000. I'm trying to find out where it is configured. The one place I've found that looks like it might be the startup script for X actually has the -nolisten option set. Anyone know where X really gets started or why it is listening to tcp in spite of this?
thanks,
Dave

cat /etc/X11/xinit/xserverrc
#!/bin/sh
exec /usr/bin/X11/X -dpi 100 -nolisten tcp

nmap -O localhost
