Hi

I installed knoppix using knx-install to external USB-drive and when booting from it knoppix does not find root (sda1).

Any suggestions what to do so i can boot knoppix from usb-drive?
Should i compile my own kernel and include usb-drivers (not modules) on to it and re-master knoppix cd?

You have to put a delay in the boot process so usb can be detected I have see a few post in debian-knoppix@linuxtag.org mailing list on this, you may want to post there for more information.

I believe a custom kernel(or a custom initrd) is needed for USB HD as I see the USB harddisk as similar to SCSI one in that the bios may be able to boot from it but beyond that, it would disappear, from the OS point of view unless the proper usb driver is loaded(either compiled in the kernel or loaded in the linuxrc of initrd).
