Hi,

I got 5.0.1 to boot from my 1Gb USB flashdrive. I would now like to use the same drive to store settings. To do this, I saw I need to create an additional partition (or make an image on the flashdrive - which also needs an additional partition).

I first booted from CD, then tried qtparted, but it freezes. When I kill it, the filesystem on the USB drive is corrupted, and the only way I can "recover" it is to re-boot to XP, and format the drive by running hpusbfw.exe.

What am I missing here - do I need to be root before running qtparted? Does it not support FAT16 (although it says it does...)?

The man page for parted describes a utility mkpart, which looked like another way of defining partitions, but this doesn't seem to be available (not found, or at least not on my path).

How can I create 2 or 3 partitions on my flashdrive, assuming qtparted won't work?

Thanks/paul
