Hi ! :D

Just so happens I've just recently had the exact same problem on an old Dell Inspiron 5000 laptop, and figured it out. I hope this solution wors for you as well.

You will need the drivers from your Belkin driver disk for this look in "FILES\DRIVERS" and specifically you will want these WIN98ME driver files "BCMWL5A.INF" and "BCMWL5.SYS" (and it woulden't hurt to include the "BCM43XXA.CAT" file as well, I do kno that the first and biggist mistake usually is to get the ".inf" file and forget the".sys" file when using "ndiswrapper" to install the driver.

Place these files on mountable media Floppy, Thumbdrive home directory whereever you like.

Next, look on the pannel at the bottom of the screen, and click on the penguin. Select "Network/internet" and at the bottom of the list chose "ndiswrapper configuration". Click "OK" and you will see the "SELECT <DRIVER>.INF FILE" dialog box. Navigate to the files you have placed somewhere mountable and select the "BCMWL5A.INF" and click "OK" this should install the driver.

Sometimes I have noticed, that if the "ndiswrapper" claims this is not an ".inf" file, you must "unmount" and then "mount" the media on which the files are located.

If they install you are not finished. you must run "wavelan configuration" and "Network card configuration" (under the penguin. Select "Network/internet")

I've gotten my Belkin card (Exact one like yours) to run under ver 4.02 I've yet to get it to work on ver 5.0 (which is why I'm here actually.

Yours will come up as wlan0.

Hope this helps !
