Hello,

I am new here, and came here after trying Knoppix as a substitution to SLAX.

When booting SLAX, there is a config option I can type at the prompt (before startx) that dramatically improves the display quality in KDE.

I am trying to fix my diplay here, the resolution is set okay, but the refresh and quality of the image is horrible, in fect, can barely read this text. Basically, a driver, or stand-in is needed.

Do I need to have a driver installed for each computer I [;an on USB booting to? Cant I have a generic driver with better display options than resolution and refresh rate? How do I make the part of my USB live burn?

FingerPie:

You might want to look at the following link for some information concerning cheat codes: http://www.knoppix.net/wiki/Cheat_Codes Some of these might not work quite the same in version 5.0.1, since it now uses Xorg Version 7.0 rather than XFree86 as in older Knoppix versions. It may very well be that fact that is at the root of your issue.
