i have an alienware auroro m7700 with a sata raid 0 setup.

i have it setup to triple boot right now with Fedora Core 5, XP, and Vista beta 2. getting the raid going correctly with FC5 involved a custom rpm of the dmraid module and rebuilding the initrd? image. i am fairly new to linux but am doing my best to get knoppix to detect my raid correctly. when i boot (with 5.0.1) it doesnt detect it.

i am willing to read any links you can throw my way to get this to work :) let me know if you need any type of output to help more effectively :)

TIA,

steve

just a quick question, does 4.0.2 detect it and work?

another question, why? from http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/R/RAID.html

(rÄ?d) Short for Redundant Array of Independent (or Inexpensive) Disks, a category of disk drives that employ two or more drives in combination for fault tolerance and performance. RAID disk drives are used frequently on servers but aren't generally necessary for personal computers
if your answer is "for fun!" then ;) cool.

Could be rare to find someone who has tried this so support might be hard to come by. I did notice the cheatcode noideraid so maybe there is some raid support built in... or there isn't, hence the code :) sry I can't say for sure.
