Fella's,
The PC I'm talking about is a Dell Latitude CPi D266XT notebook with a 4GB harddrive and 128MB EDO memory.
Windows XP Pro works fine, although slooooooooow.

When I load the Knoppix 5.0.1 CDROM, the booting process seems to proceed fine untill the notebook suddenly shuts down.
This CDROM works fine on my desktop PC (2,4 Gh, P4, XP Home).

Any idea what could be causing this??

THANKS,
V.

Hi,

I had a similar experience with a geriactric Dell CPi A366XT.

I was able to overcome it by typing:

knoppix nopcmcia

at the boot prompt. There seems to be a bug in the pcmcia startup code. However, once everything was up and working, I can switch between my Xircom and Cisco WiFi with out any issues.

Good luck!

D.
