i use debian etch, and i'm interested in try knoppix
but my doubt is
the repositories of knoppix are exactly the same than debian etch or sarge?
the same packages work in both distributions?
i ask this because on ubuntu not all debian's packages work on ubuntu and the same occur with ubuntu
my question, the escence, is
the lines from the repositories can be the same of a debian user than a knoppix user?
that's all i want to know

Knoppix uses normal Debian-packages, but doesn't use any single repository.

That is, Knoppix can have packages from Debian Sarge, Debian Etch and Debian unstable (maybe even Debian experimental, I'm not sure about that)

So you can use normal Debian repositories for Knoppix, and as long as you don't get any version-conflicts, it will work.
But because Knoppix mixes packages from several Debian repositories, there will be situations when you can't install a certain package because of version conflicts.
