orinoco a/b/g card and knoppix 5.0.1

im completely new to knoppix and i just got my orinoco card for it

i have a proxim orinoco a/b/g gold combo card that uses an atheros chipset
knoppix 5.0.1
a toshiba satellite P105-S6084 laptop with an intel integrated abg wireless i believe its the 3945abg chipset

i can get wired networking enabled but i cant get wireless to work

ive tried ndiswrapper but it cannot copy the drivers on line 135
i dont know how i would go about using iwconfig to text setup it from scratch
kwifimanager recognizes the card but says it doesnt get any signal


any suggestions or help?

btw it recognizes ath0 as the interface

same setup orinoco a/b/g card ( atheros chip), and a toshiba satellite 1805-s207, and knoppix 5.0.1
being reconized as ath0 also, ive tried: wlcardconfig, iwconfig, ifconfig, pump, and a few others and i still havent been able to get internet. ill post my specs in a few, maybe ill finally get it workin.

but you can try:

wlcardconfig (enter various info about your wlan, after prompt comes up)
netcardconfig (but doesnt let you select ath0 without modifing a file first, in the forums somewhere)
pump -i ath0 ("pumps" the internet "-i" to device "ath0")

also checout:

ifconfig
lspci -v
iwconfig
