hi all,
currently i m working on remastering of Knoppix v4.0.2...
i have customized it and created ISO file as well...
even, i tested that remastered ISO with cheatcode as following..
"knoppix bootfrom=[path to ISO]" {here, i boot PC with existing KNOPPIX 4.0.2 DVD}
and it is working...

but when i m testing same ISO with QEMU command
it is not working!!!!
it stops abruptly after loading boot splash screen..
it stops at "CONFIGURING SYSTEM DEVICES"
after waiting for sometime that splash screen also goes away...
even system's PROCESSOR light also shows no activity!!!!

my question is,
is there a difference in testing among the ways used above???
AND
i have already remastered it once...
i burnt it on DVD.. and was working perfectly...
i don't what went wrong this time....
i remastered it 8 to 10 times but the problem remains the same.....

Please show me way out of this jinx....
As, i m running out of deadline to complete this task...
SO, PLEASE PLEASE SHOW ME WAY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE...
thanx in anticipation..

I think there is a difference IF you have not purged your system specific configuration files as /etc/X11/xorg.conf (if using new X.org).

Have you tried if your DVD boots also in some other computer?

Thanx 4 yr instant response...

actually i did boot it in 2 PCs.. with different h/w platforms
with two different burning softwares and also different writing speeds [4x & 8x]
writing speed can be responsible?

but it was not working...

and sorrry to say,
i don't know about this system specific configuration file purging....

better if u plz.. explain it in detail...

actually i was trying to incorporate some of programs in
KDE Menu for my remastered knoppix...
for that i created my knoppix configuration files
and saved them in
KNOPPIX folder with default names...
knoppix.sh and configs.tbz.....
as shown in one of the forums....
and was working.... with cheat code...
and also with that
i edited
45Xsession.sh by adding comment to lines 125-154...
as shown in one of the forums...

can that be responsible for unsuccessful remastering?....
