Can I install my KNOPPIX 'live' CD on my 250gb USB external hard drive?

Thanks Harry - I'll give that a miss then and have a look at some versions of Debian. It's a pity tho,' I like Knoppix.

It's not really a pitty, Knoppix is what it is, a great Live CD. If you looked at Knoppix and really like it you can get what you like about Knoppix by Installing Debian etch and then apt-geting the packages that you like, and you don't have to take the extra bloat of the packages that you will never use. If it helps, just think of Debian as the hard disk install version of Knoppix that you can infinately customize (and that lacks the know hard disk install problems of the Live CD version).
