HI All:

I just upgraded WVdial using apt-get, Apt-get installs it and ends up configuring it with this message persistently present in teh Konsole for a long time with out any thing happening.

Setting up wvdial (1.56-1) ...
Editing `/etc/wvdial.conf'.

Scanning your serial ports for a modem.

ircomm0<*1>: ATQ0 V1 E1 -- failed at 9600 and 19200 baud.
dpkg: error processing wvdial (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script killed by signal (Interrupt)
dpkg: error processing -a (--configure):
no package named `-a' is installed, cannot configure
Errors were encountered while processing:
wvdial
-a

I just cancelled the configuration as it was taking very long time. Same case with wvdialconf utility. I am not able to open the apt-get database from synaptic as it wants me to dpkg --configure wvdial -a, which ends up with this hold down.

Anyway to get this wvdialconf finishing correctly and fast with its wvdial.conf file. I am using Knoppix 4.0 on a Toshiba Laptop with a Intel AMR WinModem Using Smartlink drivers.

Thanks,
AJ
