Hi;

I just installed knoppix 3.2 ( debian ).

It came with xine .9.20-1

I also downloaded ogle 0.9.1-2

I got the latest libdvdcss from
http://www.videolan.org/pub/libdvdcss/1.2.6/deb/

I was able to play one dvd in my collection with both ogle and xine.

However I could not play anything else. With both ogle and xine the
decryption process seemed to stall( I let each sit for about 15min to
make sure).

Any idea what this situation could be about and how I could fix it?

The console output from both ogle and xine are below if that helps.

Thanks in advance

Steve

Did you enable DMA for your DVD player? If it's not enabled, DVD's won't play well at all.

Check out the howto in the docs.

Yes, DMA is enabled.

Xine plays beautifully on my Farscape DVD, but it dies in decryption for anything else ( see the cmd line output of my post above ).

Farscape is a good show, but it would be nice to watch something other then the copy of the 1st episode that I have :)
