my monitor working like rts game.

my video card : diamond viper 550 16mb + 15" monitor philips 105e monitor
i had problem with redhat 7.2 saveral years ago. And i solved this by setting Generic 15" lcd monitor.

knoppix probing my my video card as riva tnt like xp,redhat as well.
but have problem with my monitor.
knoppix probing my monitor exactly what its=philips 105e.

my question:
how can i set knoppix to use my monitor as an generic 15" lcd?

any help appriciated.

Your desktop resolution is larger than your monitor resolution. When it detects your monitor, it lists available resolutions (modes) for your monitor. A few things to consider:
Are you specifying a resolution? e.g. 'screen=1024x768'
If so, are you specifying one that is listed for your monitor? e.g. specifying a widescreen resolution that is not listed for your monitor in the detection.
You may have to specify a larger/smaller resolution than you are currently.
You may have to specify a resolution if you are not.
