I am Unable to open file with Windows XP after opening it with Knoppix. The ownership of the file says Knoppix.

The error message I get when i try to open with Windows says "the the file is not accessible. Access is denied."

How do I change and what do I change the ownership to so that I can open the file in Windows again?

Thank you for any help.

Newbie with foot shot off.

Looks like a file permissions problem. Also happens e.g. when transferring a hard disk from one windows installation to another. It's usually wiser to fix this kind of problem from within Windows first.

Take a look at this link and see if it works: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;308421

By searching the error message on google, you can also find a number of Windows sites where this problem and the fixes are discussed.
