Knopp cd won't save to hd, even aftr chnge to write mode

Niether Knoppix 3.4, 3.8 or 5.0 live cd will let me save files or downloads to hd. YES I click on icon so the hd mounts and you can even see a little green arrow underneath the icon showing that it's mounted and I can get access to files on the hd all the time. YES I right click and change the read-write status to write, but still when I try to save downloads to the hd partition, it says " X " access denied, or the Mozilla browser says cannot create file

probably the fact that you are using the NTFS filesystem (NT, win2000, XP all use that), that has only read support in knoppix, you MAY get an UNsafe write support but.. i would not recomend it, even though it has worked for me there has been crashes for others, too many to be confortable.
if you have a USB stick you can use that if fat formatted (usually they are)
