Just thinking...
Is it possible to boot from a floppy, from there send the parameters (language, characterwidth, resolution) to kernel on a CD?
Second step might be to squeze some parameters (on floppy) to applications, but next part :-)
(Another reason, it might be problem the CD from the computer)
