help with burning plz!

my pc went down and i need to back evrything be4 i format all :/
luckly i have found knoppix 3 dayes ago and download it to see what its all about... :)
ok i have a cd\rw burner and i relly need to find a burning program!
if you can put a link or wher i can dind it it will be grate!

whats the root password?
when i am trying to get throw th shell it dont ask me password but when i try to install programs it asks me and nathing is right ;\

You can use K3b to burn it is already installed (off the Kmenu -> System -> K3b). If you need a root password open a console then sudo passwd and enter the password, you now have set a root password and can use it for any program that requires it. You cannot install new software to the CD.
