I just started the new CD-Version Knoppix 5.1.0 LiveCD.

When I change in the KDE environment to Screen No. 2,3 and 4, there is no toolbar showing anymore at the bottom.

Any hints what's wrong ?

Is the a rectangle blob in the bottom left corner with a small arrow in the middle of it ?

might have the task bars slid off to the side
or ......
check your monitor is set properly with the screen size
it might be off the bottom.
either the monitor buttons on the front of the monitor

or perhaps you have the virtual screen size set to 1280 but the physical screen size is still 1024 and you have to slide the mouse 'off' the screen to see the edges

well, you ain't crazy

i booted my next to be upgraded system, and you iz right
no task bar
wonder if it's a thing where you don't need it as you start the app on 1 and then send it to the other desktop
and you just know that you did configure your mouse to scroll through the desktops, right ?

Hi marhleet

I tried several Boot options (ati, radeon, vesa, 1024x768, 800x600) but still no KDE-Panel at the bottom on screen 2,3,4.

What else should I try ?
- Install some KDE-libs again (which one ?)
- any new ideas

it might be set to autohide mode
my installed screen
right click
configure panel
second option is hiding

the default show option is
pointer on bottom left corner

wiggle the mouse down there, while i reboot my system to look at it
if it's there, it should auto-opo up

must be a "feature" of knoppix

i couldn't find the sweet spot

set your mouse wheel to change desktops and your right button something appropriate

Looks like this little problem goes away upon Installing Knoppix to the HD..

-OR-

Something in the settings contained in my old Home directory (from 5.01) fixed it

Just thought Id pass along :)

It's solved !!

Download and start with KNOPPIX 5.1.1 (!) and hey it's working ...

Many thanks to Mr. Knopper and the community.
