Hello,
I Found something strange.
When I boot Knoppix 5.1.0 with Cool 'n Quiet ON in the BIOS the booting process stops just a short while after the driver for CPU scaling is enabled. (usually when my AGP card is detected). It stops with no error-message: the dvd just stops loading and the system hangs. I can't go to another console when it hangs.
Just by coincindence I discovered that it works when Cool' n Quiet is turned OFF in the BIOS. I tried it several times with C 'n Q on and off and always the same result: Boots when off, Hangs when on.
Is it a bug? Or something else. I have the DVD version of Knoppix 5.1.0
My maybe relevant hardware:
CPU: AMD64 3000+ @ 2.0 GHz (not oc' ed)
Video: NVIDIA GeForce 6600 GT 128 MB AGP (not oc' ed)
Mem: 1 GB DDR @ 2x 200Mhz (thus, not oc'ed nor tweaked otherwise)
Mobo: Asrock K8S8X with latest BIOS (worked for over a year with several linux distro's and Windows XP)
